Maintaining Oil Rubbed Bronze LED Shower Head
Maintaining Oil Rubbed Bronze LED Shower Head
Oil-rubbed bronze finish delivers a rich, dark-brown, old-world finish. When cleaning the oil rubbed bronze finish be careful, it is a live finish and more like a paint than a metal finish. Cleaning oil rubbed bronze fixtures is done with mineral oil and a soft cloth. In doing so rub gently or you will remove the oil rubbed bronze finish. Oil rubbed bronze is a living finish which has no protective coatings on the surface.
This finish is very sensitive, and requires the fixture to remain clean and dry and never be cleaned with any abrasive cleaner. You would not use normal metal polishes on it since it is more of a flat finish and is not very thick. Basically just rinse the Oil Rubbed Bronze Led Shower Head and dry it. You can use microfiber cloth:
- Step One: Dampen a cloth in cool water and wipe any spots or dirt off your oil-rubbed bronze fixtures.
- tep Two: Dry the fixtures right away with a clean cloth; this prevents the development of new water spots.
- Step Three: Apply a scratch-sealing furniture wax, like Old English Scratch Cover, to any scratches, then wipe away excess. Make sure the wax you use is a dark tone that matches the color of your fixtures.
- Step Four: Spray a sealing wax, such as Flitz Shower Wax, on to your oil-rubbed bronze fixtures, then buff with a clean cloth, to protect against hard water.
To protect the oil that’s protecting the surface, you’ll need to wax the oil rubbed bronze once every two months. A can of furniture wax will do the trick. Use a chamois to massage it in and wipe it off according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Be gentle. Always wipe, never buff or you’ll strip off the finish.
