These Shower Heads Will Add A Classic Look To Your Bathroom
Let’s look into a brief history of showers and bathing to get an understanding why the classic style shower head became so popular recently. The idea of showers and bathrooms had already been around for thousands of years. 1,000,000 BC natural waterfalls were a widespread form of showering. In Ancient Egypt and Mesopotamia servants with water jugs were pouring water over the heads of bathers.
In ancient Greece, basic pumping techniques were used to raise the water above the head using pressure. The lead piping was used as sewers. These very primitive versions of shower rooms were available to all. Ancient Rome is famous for showering as a form of social activity.
The principle of the classic mechanical shower head was invented in 1767 in England by William Feetham. The initial idea was to pump water into a large basin above the head and pull a chain to release the water. It was very similar to the ancient techniques of Greeks and Romans. In 1810 an anonymous inventor refined this design to create the modern form of showers. In the 1880’s – a range of products was evolving in new and exciting directions such as the needle shower, the rain shower, and the canopy shower or bath.

How To Raise Your Classic Shower Head
Use a pipe wrench if the pipe doesn’t come out pretty easy on our shower and you need a little extra leverage. Just keep in mind that it is going to ruin that pipe, but if you’re replacing it who cares.
The next step: once you clean out where that pipe was on, you can get an S-style shower arm. Some people call these shower pipes S-pipes. Then make sure you’re screwing it in on the right side – there’s the front way and a back way. Obviously, this won’t work if you are installing the wrong side into the shower.
But before we do that we need to install some thread tape. You will want to install this pretty generously. A lot of these pipes don’t have super strong metal, so make sure you have plenty of thread space to protect it. Also, make sure you’re installing it clockwise – the other way it doesn’t glue enough and get all messy once you get it into the fitting. Because we share arms are so long you can get so much leverage on it.
Don’t even worry about the pliers because of the amount of torque unable to get with the length of the pipe that should be tight enough. Definitely, you can put your old shower head back on but you can also buy a classic style shower head on Bathselect website.
At this point don’t tighten this down very much because if there is a leak it’ll be really easy to see and fix it. Before you put the flange back down, turn your shower on and make sure that there are no leaks. Let the water run for about five or ten minutes just to be safe. Looking back into the wall – if you don’t see any moisture it will work out. Go ahead and put your flange down and all that this is.
