Steam Shower – the complete shower system

If you want to have a modern and original feature in your bathroom, consider installing a steam shower. More and more homeowners are opting to re-create the experience at home by turning their ordinary shower into warm, vaporous steam shower. Turning your everyday shower into a spa is a great way of creating a relaxing and therapeutic personal space, and as long as you get the right kind of spa, you will be able to enjoy the invigorating water.

A major bathroom fixture which helps you to get the impression of a spa, this is the use of a steam shower. You can purchase the steam device as a separate unit, and add it on to your existing shower.

This will allow you to create a steam-room, similar to those offered in spas and beauty salons. When you are adding steam to your shower room, you need to make sure that you have a completely sealed room, with waterproof floors, walls, and ceiling, as the steam will eventually settle as condensation upon bathroom surfaces.

Along with the many health benefits a steam shower provides to your skin and sinuses, it elevates the need to go back and forth to a spa to get rejuvenated. The steam showers function in a simple basic way: when you turn on the digital controls in the shower it triggers an electric valve to fill the steam generator with about a gallon of cold water.

Then, just like a plug-in teakettle, the generator’s electric element brings the water to a boil. A pipe channels the hot vapor to the steam head, or disperser, which fills the stall with tropical moisture that never gets above a safe 118 degrees Fahrenheit.
