Lavatory  Sensor Faucets For Commercial Use

The lavatory automatic commercial motion faucet (also known as hands-free touch less sensor faucet) is a faucet equipped with a proximity sensor and mechanism that opens its valve to allow water to flow in response to the presence of a hand or hands in close proximity. The faucet is created by combining four key components; the solenoid valve, the sensor & control electronics, power source, and the faucet itself. Although there maybe some variations to this theme, however these are they key tools each has a distinct function that, once all combined will constitute an automatic faucet.

Solenoid of infrared touchless faucet is entrusted with the task of physically starting and shutting water flow. The sensor and control electronics parts combined have the role to sense the presence of an object in front of the faucet and order the solenoid valve to initiate the flow of water. Then, when the object is no longer present, the sensor and control electronics order the solenoid valve to terminate the flow of water, but only after the predetermined time set by factory (or adjusted by the plumber) have passed, which is always measured by seconds.

The power source is the batteries or AC transformer, and they are crucial to insure faucet operation. In recent developments some of these faucets are self powered meaning they generate and store the power by water flow so the need for AC or DC is elimintaed. The faucet spouts itself are designed to house within them the sensor capsule, while some will house all i.e. sensor, control electronics, solenoid valve, and even, batteries.

Finding the Right Infrared Motion Sensor Faucets for Your Luxury Kitchen or Bathroom

With all the new technology out there, you have probably noticed that some restaurants, stores and other places with public bathrooms have installed motion sensor faucets. Did you know you can actually get one of these in your own home? See our full selections of automatic sensor faucets. This technology is made so that you don’t have to touch dirty faucet handles or make them dirty with your hands.

It’s much more sanitary and it actually saves water. The sensor is usually located below the nozzle and you just wave your hands in front of it to start the flow of water. There are even conversion kits out there to turn a normal faucet into a motion sensor faucet. This is much different from the touch technology, which gives you the ability to bump the nozzle to start the flow of water.

The Benefits of a Faucet with Motion Technology

1. Cleanliness

Imagine you are cooking dinner and you just put your hand in raw hamburger or touched raw chicken. Do you really want to touch the knob to turn the faucet on, wash your hands and then touch the dirty knob again to turn the faucet off? This defeats the purpose and with motion technology, you don’t have to worry about this.

Instead of passing the germs onto the knob, then back onto your clean hands, you can simply wave your hand in front of the sensor and the water will start. You don’t even have to bump the faucet with your arm or elbow to get it started. This is a great benefit of using this type of faucet and you will not have to worry about passing germs back and forth.

2. Convenience

What if your hands are full of something you need to wash? You don’t have to set it all down, just wave your hand or one of the items in front of the sensor and you are set. This makes it easy to clean up after cooking, clean vegetables before cooking and to do many other tasks in the kitchen that you need to perform.

3. Saves You Water

How many times do you brush your teeth and leave the water running the entire time even though you don’t need it. We all do it, but you don’t have to worry about it anymore with the motion sensor technology. The faucet can be set to shut off as soon as the sensor no longer senses any movement. This will help you save water when you would normally just leave the faucet running.

4. Better Construction

Typically, because these faucets are made by top companies and made to last, they are built better. Since the motion technology is not as cheap as your everyday faucet, the manufactures surround it with high quality materials. Most are made with brass on the inside and a variety of finishes ranging from oil rubbed bronze to chrome on the outside.
